Spain is the Leader Partner of the project through the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, and more specifically, the General Sub directorate of Livestock and Hunting productions. In addition, there are other Spanish institutions that will provide their valuable specific experience due to the division of powers existing in Spain which makes regional governments responsible for implementation in their territories: Institute of Agri-food Research and Technology (IRTA), Regional Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Rural Environment, Territory and Population of the Government of La Rioja, Regional Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock of the Government of Castilla y León, Regional Ministry for Rural Affairs of the Regional Government of Galicia, FIIAPP -International and Ibero-american Foundation for Administration and Public Policies, …
The Food and Veterinary Service of the Republic of Latvia (FVS) is the Junior Partner of this project. This is supervised by the Ministry of Agriculture. FVS has got significant institutional experience and is responsible of food hygiene and safety, animal health, disease control, animal identification or animal welfare, among other duties.
The Spanish-Latvian consortium is in line with #StrongerTogether and Team Europe spirit, promoting partnership between European partners in the implementation of cooperation projects as well as creating strong alliances between Member States.
Department for Contracting and Financing of European Union Funded Programs) of the Republic of Serbia is the Contracting Authority and is responsible for financing, contracting, execution of payments and supervision of the project implementation.
The main beneficiary of the project is the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management MFWAM of the Republic of Serbia.It will be implemented within the Sector for Agricultural Policy - Group for animal husbandry and processing of livestock products, Veterinary Directorate and the Sector for Agricultural Inspection.
The objective is to guarantee that all MAFWM staff, control body staff and other relevant stakeholders acquire the necessary knowledge about the carcass classification system: the regulations, the control mechanisms, aspects subject to inspection, the systematic of the collection and communication of information and the actions that can be carried out to guarantee a correct application of the regulations
